Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) by Lisa Burk

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" John 1:29
The imagery of Christ as The Lamb is also used extensively by John in the book of Revelation (Rev. 5:6-14). The image seen in this mosaic of a lamb holding a cross has been used since the times of the early church.

Manus Dei (Hand of God) by Jeannine Hansen

The hand of God had been used exclusively in the first 8 centuries for representing God the Father most likely due to the many references to the Hand of God in the Scriptures and because people did not want to represent God in human form. (However later in church history a human form was used even for God the Father (eg. Michelangelo's creation of man in the Sistine Chapel).
